We have experience in matching private equity sources with early-stage companies and businesses at the lower end of the middle market. By focusing on this underserved market, Grandview National has cultivated a network of private equity groups and venture capital funds that are uniquely suited to invest in and partner with small cap enterprises.
In addition, we target strategic investors, which are an often overlooked source of private capital. Strategic investors invest in a business for a variety of reasons, such as to establish key vendor relationships, gain access to products and services, secure distribution, acquire core competencies, or obtain access to clients or customers.
We offer our clients a cost efficient alternative to traditional investment banks that charge a substantial upfront fee, take a significant percentage fee on funds raised, and often retain an equity position in the client’s company. Moreover, our competitors require an exclusive engagement for one year, with a one to two year tail period. Accordingly, if the client raises any funds, including through family and friends, or if a third party raises funds, the investment bank takes its full fee on the proceeds.
In contrast, Grandview National works non-exclusively, and does not take an upfront fee or charge a percentage fee on funds raised. Instead, we work on an hourly fee basis, and the client may end the engagement at any time. Further, Grandview National does not take an equity interest in the client’s business and therefore avoids future conflicts of interest. Our straight-forward approach allows us to build a long-term relationship with management and position the business for eventual sale.
